About a week ago I officially launched The Little Almanack Club 🌈
At the time I only had a cheap and quick mvp and the belief that connecting people — who share similar values and interests — to meet in real life is valuable.
And it seems like that idea resonated, because as of today there are 196 approved members from 126 different cities!
This got me really excited and I built a members directory where you can look all the members of the Club and filter by country / city.
And getting emails like the ones below got me even more excited and feeling like a missionary (rather than a mercenary) — using Jeff Bezos’s framing.
The mission of this project is now clear to me:
To build a global community of founders and independent thinkers to meet IRL and grow a high-quality network.
And to make sure only founders or real independent thinkers apply to the Club, I made the permanent internal policy to never, ever, run paid ads — which is what almost all “entrepreneurship communities” do. Because that just attracts the wrong people. Instead, I’ll only use Picking Nuggets and The Little Almanack as distribution for the Club. And on top of that, we screen and manually approve every single application.
I think this community will also be awesome to meet new interesting people when we’re traveling ✈️
